Statement

I find endless inspiration in flowers.

I’m drawn to their shape, fragrance, and fleeting beauty. Whether walking through my neighborhood, visiting local nurseries, or tending my own garden, I take my camera along to capture reference images for my paintings. I often crop these photos to highlight dramatic shapes, angles, and compositions that might otherwise go unnoticed.

My painting process is one of close observation—an exploration of colors, shadows, and textures that are easily overlooked at first glance. I search for hidden hues in light and shadow, focusing on the subtle details that make each flower unique. I often exaggerate these features to emphasize their character and vitality.

Spending focused time with a subject brings me a sense of peace and joy. I hope my work encourages you to pause and appreciate the beauty and complexity found in even the simplest bloom.
